There has been convincing evidence that a depression in the French countryside was formed by a meteorite impact since 1950, but was argued against in the following years. Recent research using magnetic anomalies and shocked rock is again presenting evidence that this is indeed a crater formed by a meteorite. And won’t the winery be relieved when its name (Domaine du Météore) is justified and the crater makes it onto the confirmed list! It will be presented at the LPSC Conference in March 2023.
