Moissaninte, a silicon carbide mineral, was first discovered by Henri Moissan in 1893 in carbonacious chondrite rock samples at Meteor Crater! Naturally occurring, they are extremely rare, but synthetics are produced for semiconductors, abrasives, electronics and as gemstones.
